The new upvc upgrades are much more durable, weatherproof and low maintenance than the older type gutter systems. New builds are generally installed using the new products and older properties can be upgraded.

We carry out fascia and soffit repairs and upgrade to the new upvc systems. 

Older wooden fascias and soffits can become costly in their upkeep since they require more maintenance. The wood needs to be painted to help protect the wood and the rain water will eventually cause the wood to rot.

The new upvc products have many more advantages over the older wooden fascias and soffits. No maintenance being one of the many benefits.

Vented soffits are available and these help prevent condensation building up in the roofline/loft space as they allow the air to circulate.

We still carry out mortar based roof verge repairs and re-bed and replace ridge tiles.

Mortar secures the edges of the roof tiles, however, over time the ever changeable weather takes its toll and the mortar will crack and begin to crumble. Birds often take advantage of this and build nests, you will often see gaps in the verges when this occurs. Rain water can then find its way into the gaps and this causes damage to the interior of the property, such as dampness and worse. However, repairs that are carried out ensure the roof verges and ridges are secure.

We also install dry roofing systems, this is both the dry verge systems and the dry ridge systems. The dry roofing systems are much better, secure and durable with no maintenance. They are able to withstand our adverse weather conditions and keep birds and other things from nesting in the roof/loft space.

Chimneys being at the highest point of the roof also require maintenance from time to time.

Chimneys get the brunt of the weather and this eventually leads to the mortar between the brickwork becoming cracked and crumbling. If not repaired the chimney becomes unstable. This can, if left, lead to the bricks being dislodged and in extreme cases the chimney can fall onto the roof or below it causing numerous problems.

A small repair undertaken early will be much cheaper than if left. Re-pointing is all that is usually required and once this is complete the chimney once again becomes stable. The same with chimney pots and cowls. Old and worn mortar can be cleaned off and around the chimney pots and new mortar laid. Cowls can also be repaired or replaced.
